about
i have recently found that my mind has become increasingly filled with desires to bake, bake, and bake. much to my roommates’ chagrin (not to mention their waist bands).
this is highly surprising, because i never, ever baked or cooked or really did anything involving food apart from heating up some ramen in the microwave until i got an apartment at the end of college. although, this pretty much just meant i had more counter space to put my junk on while heating up ramen in the microwave.
but something has changed, the domestic/baking bug has bit and i am now a hopeless addict. could be i find making up silly names for cupcakes to be extremely fun, or i just really like to eat baked goods, or the fact that i sit on my butt all day in front of a computer and need to make something with my hands… (preferably edible and tasty.)
and, because i am a leo, and thus naturally need the spotlight to thrive (i cant help it. it is in the stars!), i decided a blog would be a nice outlet for my baking (mis)adventures.
alright billy ray, why the title? after brainstorming for the perfect name, and a heartbreaking (achy breaky even) veto by my friends of the possible best name ever “choctastrophe,” “my achy bakey heart” was born. it goes well with my cheesy personality. not to mention the throw back to my southern roots (i am now an official masshole, which i still find ‘wicked’ shocking) and my inability to ever, ever get song lyrics right.
so please read and enjoy… you wouldn’t want to break my heart, my achy bakey heart.
want to contact me? please email me at: myachybakeyheart [at] gmail.com

I saw the Peanut Butter Blondies on tastespotting and HAD to jump. I’m adding you to my Reader this minute.
We even have the same music playing in our kitchen- Greg Laswell, Ashtar Command and Dan Wilson too, right? Can’t go wrong with the Hotel Cafe
